Vitra Resting Bear

Designed by Swedish studio Front and part of Vitra's Resting Animals collection, the Resting Bear is more than just another accessory. Inspired by the calming effect animal figures have on people, this design offers a cosy addition to any interior. Resting Bear has a knitted cover and is filled with moulded foam, allowing it to serve as a footstool, seat cushion or back cushion.

"Resting Animals" is the culmination of Front's recent research project into the deep connection between people and figurative objects. Randomly selected individuals were asked to identify the most emotionally enriching and meaningful objects in their lives, with animal figures most prominent in the choices. Building on their previous work observing animal sleeping patterns, Front drew inspiration for a collection of slumbering creatures that exude serene tranquillity.

With its cosy look and functional design, the Resting Bear embodies the essence of Scandinavian design: simple, yet warm and inviting. Whether used as a decorative accent or a practical piece of furniture, the Resting Bear adds a touch of cosiness to any space, reminding us of the importance of moments of rest in our daily lives.
